I run Gashapoint as a one-person research project. Every article on the site is written or edited by me — no rotating editorial team, no AI-generated filler. If a guide on this site has factual errors, I'm the person who made them and the person who fixes them.

What I collect: Mostly capsule-format Japanese figures — Bandai HG series, Kaiyodo's Capsule Q Museum line, Takara Tomy Arts miniature series. Some Ichiban Kuji top-tier statues when an IP I follow has a release worth chasing. A small Pop Mart and Sonny Angel shelf, but I'm a much more casual blind-box collector than gashapon collector.

How I source content: Primary references where available — manufacturer pages from Bandai Spirits, retail listings from AmiAmi and Buyee, Pop Mart's official Hong Kong stock filings, secondary-market data from Mercari Japan and Yahoo! Auctions Japan via proxy. When I cite numbers I link the source. When I'm making a judgment call from collector experience, I label it as opinion.

Why one author? Honestly, because I'd rather be the person responsible for everything on the site than coordinate with multiple writers I don't trust at the level I'd need to. The downside is fewer articles per month. The upside is consistency and accountability.
